A really useful site put up by the U.S. Department of Interior's human resources office http://www.doi.gov/octc/ called "Career Manager" is a good place to start--even if you are not affiliated with the U.S. Government. There are a number of helpful tools and exercises that make you more effective by helping you define yourself.
